Food Safety: Solutions to Prevent Food Contamination in Restaurants

According to the CDC, food contamination causes millions of illnesses each year. For a restaurant chain, this has major consequences for its customers, its brand reputation, and its business. Ensuring environmental cleanliness and safety is a must!

Customers have trusted NTi to install PHI® on their restaurants. The primary reason is to help prevent the spread of airborne viruses, but did you know that these systems also help reduce food contamination?

NTi offers RGF products that can prevent food contamination. Here are the different types we can provide and what they can treat:

Air & Surface Treatment

Products with RGF’s patented PHI® technology safely reduce airborne microbials. The systems we most commonly install in restaurants are the REME HALO and PHI-PKG. Some clients choose to do a mix of these systems depending on their systems and building layout. This is food-safe and was originally developed solely for disinfecting food. This is effective against norovirus and salmonella. It's been shown to drastically reduce the amount of these two viruses on surfaces - see full list of testing results here.

IMSB Ice Machine

The IMSB Ice Machine Treatment System is used on commercial ice machines which are prone to microbial contamination. Harmful germs can spread to customers if ice machines are not cleaned often and well. This can also cause biofilm and slime buildup in your ice machines. The IMSB keeps ice machine heads and bins clean and reduce scheduled maintenance and the risk of microbial contamination.

NTi has published its own case studies about installing these systems in restaurants and the benefits they have.
